Sugar Rhythm – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

Sugar Rhythm ("the game") is a one-tap rhythm game for Android. This policy explains what the game does with your information. The short version: the game has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It downloads a small file once a day with the daily challenge and events, which sends nothing about you. If you choose to use Friends, the game's own server keeps your chosen name, your friend code, your profile card and your friend list, and you can delete all of it at any time. If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, your progress is backed up to your own Google account, and your scores and achievements go to Google Play Games.

Information we collect

Very little, and only for features you can see. The game has its own small server at api.playsugarrhythm.com, used for the daily content and for the optional Friends feature (both described below). We do not sell or share personal information, and use it for nothing else: the game has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking tools. Signing in with Google Play Games and using Friends are both optional.

Daily content

Once a day the game downloads a small file from its server with the day's challenge, missions and events. The request contains nothing about you, your phone or your progress. Like every connection on the internet, it carries your phone's network (IP) address; the server uses it only to send the file back and does not store it. The server runs on Cloudflare, which handles the connection under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Friends (optional)

Nothing is sent until you choose to go online in the Friends part of your Profile and pick a name. From then on the game's server keeps:

Your name and card are shown to your friends and to players you send a friend request to. Anyone who has your friend code can send you a request; you decide whether to accept it. To stop spam, the server counts how many new profiles are made from one network each day; it keeps only a scrambled (hashed) form of the network address for this, and deletes the count the next day.

You can delete your Friends profile at any time from your Profile. That removes your profile, your friendships and your requests from the server at once. Duels in the game are practice duels played on your phone; they send nothing.

Optional sign-in, progress backup, leaderboards and achievements

You can choose to sign in with Google Play Games. If you do, the game uses Google's service to read your Play Games display name (shown in the settings so you can see you are signed in) and to save a small backup of your progress to your own Google account using Google's "Saved Games" feature. The backup contains only: your best result and points on each level, which difficulties you have cleared, your daily-challenge streak and its date, which looks you have equipped, the trophies you have earned, how many worlds you have seen, and whether you finished the tutorial. It is stored and handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy; we never receive or see it.

When you are signed in, the game also sends your best score for each leaderboard (the whole Kingdom and each world) and the achievements you unlock to Google Play Games. Google shows leaderboards and achievements to players, so your Play Games name and profile picture can appear next to your score, as set in your Play Games profile settings. Google handles this data; we never receive or see it.

You can play without signing in, and you can delete your Play Games data at any time (see "Deleting your data").

The game works offline

Every level and song is inside the app, so you can play with no connection. The game uses the internet only for the daily content and the optional Friends feature (above), the optional Google Play Games features (sign-in, backup, leaderboards and achievements) and purchases (below); it does not connect to any other server.

Purchases

Worlds 1 and 2 are free. Two optional one-time purchases are offered: the full game (Worlds 3 to 5) and "your own music". Purchases are made through Google Play: Google handles the payment and your payment details, and we never receive or see them. The game only asks Google Play which of these purchases you own, so it can open them (also on a new phone), and remembers the answer on your device.

Reminders

The game can show a notification to remind you about your daily-challenge streak (for example on the last day of a streak) or after a few days away. Reminders are planned and shown on your phone; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. On Android 13 and newer the game asks your permission first. You can switch reminders off in the game's Settings (Streak reminders) or in your phone's notification settings.

Your own music

If you make a level from a song on your phone, the song is analysed on your phone to find its beat, and the level is saved on your phone. The song is never uploaded or sent anywhere.

Sending feedback

In the game's Settings you can tap Send feedback. The game then makes a small report (the game version, your phone model and Android version, the game's settings, your level results and the game's latest logs) and opens your phone's share sheet. Nothing is sent unless you choose where to share it (for example email or a chat app), and then only to the person you pick.

What stays on your phone

Your progress (stars, trophies, unlocked looks, your daily streak, settings such as volume, audio sync and reminders) and any songs you choose to import yourself are saved on your device. Songs and settings are never sent anywhere. Progress, scores and achievements are sent only to Google Play Games, and only if you signed in; if you use Friends, the few numbers on your profile card go to the game's server as described above. If you uninstall the game, the data on your phone is deleted with it (what is stored in your Google account stays until you delete it).

Permissions

The game uses these Android permissions: vibration (for tap feedback, which you can switch off in the game's settings), keep screen awake (so the screen does not turn off while you play), internet and network state (for the daily content, the optional Friends and Google Play Games features, and purchases), notifications (for the optional streak reminders), receive boot completed (so a planned reminder is set again after your phone restarts), and Google Play billing (for the optional purchases). It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or location, and it only opens a song file when you pick one yourself.

Deleting your data

The only data on Sugar Rhythm's own server is your Friends profile, if you made one. You can remove everything yourself:

If you need help, email us at the address below.

Children

The game is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has made a Friends profile, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the game ever changes in a way that affects your privacy (for example by adding new online features, such as live duels or shared levels), this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the date above will change.
